Dr. Jackie, a native Lexingtonian, attended Purdue University before returning to Lexington to complete her undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky. She then spent the next fours years at the U.K. College of Dentistry, graduating in 1979. Through her years as a dental student, Dr. Jackie was drawn to treating children and those with special needs. She completed a two-year residency program in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Kentucky, and began her Lexington practice in 1981.

She is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Kentucky Dental Association, past president of the Blue Grass Dental Society, and Kentucky Association of Pediatric Dentists. She also serves on the Board and is Secretary-Treasurer of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Foundation. She is a Fellow in the American College of Dentistry.

In addition to her professional activities, Dr. Jackie has served on the Boards of numerous civic and charitable organizations. She enjoys tennis, snow skiing, water sports, and spending time with her husband, Lyman Hager, and their daughter, Caroline.
